Sensorium Rüttihubelbad, Walkringen

At the Sensorium in Rüttihubelbad, everything revolves around activating the senses. Visitors – especially children and young people – can playfully engage with around 70 interactive stations to hear, see, smell, and touch familiar and unfamiliar things.

Sensorium
70 stations covering 1,500 square meters invite visitors to try things out, perceive and observe. Sounds, colors, vibrations, scents, light and darkness amaze the audience and encourage them to explore the laws of nature. In the words of Hugo Kükelhaus, who came up with the idea for the Sensorium: Visitors learn "how the eye sees, the ear hears, the nose smells, the skin feels, the fingers touch, the foot understands, the hand grasps, the brain thinks, the lungs breathe, the blood pulses, and the body vibrates."

20th anniversary and the special exhibition "Life is vibration"
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Sensorium, the museum is dedicating itself entirely to its inspiration: Hugo Kükelhaus. In addition to the new permanent exhibition "The Life and Work of Hugo Kükelhaus," the museum is focusing on one of the major themes described by the educator, artist, and philosopher in his work: vibrations. Vibrations are everywhere, because everything is in motion—always. We experience vibration with our senses: we feel movement, hear sounds, and see colors. In the approximately 25 stations of the special exhibition "Life is Vibration," vibrations can be experienced and explored in a wide variety of ways. The anniversary year is accompanied by a select cultural program. Readings on scents, on the theme of life and death, as well as two concerts by Tinu Heiniger, Pudi Lehmann, and Bruno Bieri kick off a series of events that appeal to the senses.

Guided tours
Personal guided tours through the Sensorium provide an in-depth insight into the world of the senses. Groups of two to 25 people can enjoy an interactive tour of the current exhibitions led by the expert team of guides.

The Sensorium offers guided tours for school classes from cycles 1-3 and secondary level II. Picnic facilities and a playground are available.
