Restaurant
The venerable Bären in Sumiswald was already described in Jeremias Gotthelf's "Schwarzer Spinne" (Black Spider). Today, the hosts spoil you with delicacies from the kitchen and wine cellar. Take a break at the Bären and enjoy moments of tranquil contemplation and traditional regional culinary specialties. The "Spinnentisch" (spider table) from Gotthelf's novella still stands in the Bären today. Banquets and events The cozy parlors and Stübli exude the proverbial Emmental hospitality. Here you can enjoy a moment of tranquil contemplation in peace. For smaller banquets for up to 16/18 guests in the Bärenstübli and Stübli. The Burgerstube can accommodate banquets for up to 40 people. If you would like to celebrate a larger party, you can do so in the ATICO, above the rooftops of Sumiswald, for up to 100 people, or in the festive ballroom for up to 140 guests. The Landgasthof Bären was awarded the "Excellent" seal of approval at the Swiss Location Award 2024 with 8.4 points, making it one of the most beautiful wedding locations in Switzerland.
