Holzerwäg, die Sumiswalder Genusstour
Enjoy the charm of the Sumiswald hills on this tour and let your hosts spoil you with a variety of regional culinary delights along the way.
The hike begins with a hearty Holzer-Znüni breakfast at the Grütli restaurant. After the train station, the route passes the Landi store and heads towards Grossenbach. The forest begins on the left-hand side and the "Schüpbachwägli," an old deer trail, leads hikers to the Bärhegen.
It's worth taking a break along the way to admire the wonderful landscape or bathe your feet in the stream. Once you reach the top, head towards Schaber. Here you can see a large wind turbine on the hill, which is now producing electricity again. From Schaber, the route continues towards Sumiswald. When you come out of the forest, you can see the Jura on the right and the Bernese Alps on the left. The path on this ridge is called Schonegg.
The route continues to the cozy Tannenbad restaurant, where guests can enjoy a delicious lunch. After lunch, a beautiful hiking trail with many shady trees leads along the Griesbach stream. The route continues over the "Ängelberg" to Sumiswald, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the entire village of Sumiswald. Stop for refreshments, relax, and enjoy dessert at the Landgasthof Bären in Sumiswald.
