Gasthof Bären, Langnau

The "Bären" is the oldest inn in Langnau, mentioned in documents as a tavern, i.e. a restaurant, in 1432 and thus more than 100 years older than all other restaurants in Langnau. Around 1730, a new building was constructed, which was later given a facelift. The roof and the evenly spaced windows probably date from the last quarter of the 18th century.
Food and drink
The food served at the Bären is hearty and creative. Whenever possible, market-fresh natural products from the region are used. The original wine selection, which perfectly matches the philosophy of the menu, also ensures full enjoyment.
Hotel
The five rooms, each furnished in a different style, exude tranquility, individuality, and comfort. Coffee, tea, and various baked goods are available from 9:00 a.m. (not included in the price).

Leisure activities
Opposite the Bären is the Chüechlihus regional museum. The Chüechlihus is one of the largest museums with a local history collection in Switzerland. It got its name from the coffee shop that operated there until 1956, which was famous for its "Chüechli" – small pastries baked in fat. It's well worth a visit.

The Gasthof Bären is located in the heart of Langnau and is easily accessible by car and public transport. Free parking is available at the restaurant or opposite the church.
