Brätlistelle Schönebüeli, Burgdorf
Barbecue area with a beautiful view over the town of Burgdorf.
This is what you call an insider tip. Footpaths lead from Burgdorf's Steinhof up into a small forest that turns out to be a real gem. It is a "place that gives you a lot of energy," as one of the two women who have arranged to meet here for a chat says. In the forest, you can see a simple fire pit with various seating options. At the edge of the forest, there are more benches from which you can enjoy a beautiful view over Burgdorf to the Jura mountains. We also recommend a detour to Chüeweid-Grüebli, 300 meters away. Once a gravel pit, the site was later renaturalized and, with its ponds, stone piles, and rough pastures, is now a paradise for many creatures.
How to get there:
On foot: Near the Way of St. James, Burgdorf-Bern section.
By public transport: 10 minutes from Burgdorf-Steinhof train station.
By car: Use the car park at the top of Schönbühlweg and follow the footpath into the forest.
