Brätlistelle Lueg Denkmal, Affoltern i. E.
Well-equipped barbecue area with a beautiful view over the Emmental hills and peaks.
Lueg is a wonderful place. The view stretches from Pilatus to Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau to Dent-de-Lys. The monument at the viewpoint commemorates the 54 Bernese cavalrymen who lost their lives during the First World War. According to old writings, no fewer than 20,000 visitors and 2,000 mounted cavalrymen attended the monument's inauguration in October 1921. It must have been quite a celebration! The barbecue area next to the monument also has many fans. It consists of two comfortable Swiss family fire pits, two large wooden tables, and a covered storage area with plenty of firewood. There are also various memorial stones and a cash box for voluntary donations. It is not possible to reserve the barbecue area.
Activities Not far from the monument, the Emmental Show Dairy in Affoltern awaits you. Discover the home of Emmentaler AOP.
