Brachers Bed and Breakfast, Oberburg
In the typical hilly landscape of the Lower Emmental, three kilometers outside the village of Oberburg, in a quiet, sheltered location, you will find this traditionally run farm with its charming bed and breakfast.
Bed and Breakfast
The offer includes two detached guest houses, which are within sight of each other in the middle of the Ökowiese in Hofstatt. The old fruit trees surrounding them provide shade and exude peace and comfort. Deck chairs and a barbecue area invite you to linger and enjoy yourself. The "Weideschürli" used to serve as a shelter for cattle and horses. With its 15 m² of restored, optimally utilized living space, it offers room for one or two people. It is recommended for short stays. The "Ofeh'sli," formerly used as a bread oven, is an old two-story sandstone building that is tastefully furnished for two to four people and is suitable for longer stays. Both houses are equipped with a toilet/bathroom/shower. Breakfast is brought directly to the guest house in the morning and can be enjoyed there or outside in front of the cottage when the weather is nice. Guests are treated to freshly baked bread, braided bread, and other farm-fresh and regional products. The guest houses are available from March to November. The occupancy calendar and booking form can be found on the website. The interior of the houses has been furnished with great care, featuring antique objects and exquisite decorative items. Preference is given to adult guests or families with children aged 12 and over.nbsp;
Agricultural business
The "IP-Suisse" label and its guidelines form the basis for the ecological management of the farm, which consists mainly of grassland. The irregularly shaped plots, often surrounded by forest, are ideally suited for grazing cattle. The animals are divided into four groups and, with a few exceptions, are fed with feed produced on the farm. The farm and family also include a dog, several cats, and, during the summer months, two free-range pigs that happily root around in the earth. The two Highland Cattle cows are the pride and joy of the farm managers, but they also attract the admiring glances of a wide variety of guests.nbsp;
Location
The tranquility, proximity to the forest, and seclusion in stimulating natural surroundings are advantages of the Bracher's B&B location.
Excursion possibilities
The location in the farming hamlet of "Hof," slightly elevated in the Lauterbach Valley, offers a good starting point for hikes and day trips to the Emmental. The well-known e-bike routes "Herzschlaufe 899 West" and "Herzroute 99" are very close by.
