Sahlenweidli, Röthenbach
Immerse yourself in a long-forgotten time when running water and electricity were not yet a matter of course in the Emmental.
The Gotthelf House
High above Röthenbach and Eggiwil, in the venerable Sahlenweidli – well known from the SRF report – you can enjoy "life as it was in Gotthelf's time." The Sahlenweidli is a typical 18th-century small farmhouse in the Upper Menton region, built with local fir wood. The building has neither electricity nor running water – making it completely authentic.
Restaurant
Delicious dishes from yesteryear, prepared on a wood-burning stove. Whether it's a fine Schwartenwurst sausage, taken straight from the kitchen smoker, a "Suure Mockä" or a "Gnagi": you choose your own menu at the Sahlenweidli. Indulge in nostalgia and enjoy this culinary experience.
Events
The Sahlenweidli can also be rented for cocktail parties and company outings.
